What have republicans done for you?

Ronald Reagan raised the debt ceiling 18 times. George W. Bush raised it 7 times. It has been raised a total of 106 times since 1940 with pretty much no fanfare. But these new republicans are so set on attacking the working class and the needy that they have no problem using hostage tactics. Just like they did to get the Bush tax cuts extended for the rich. They held millions of peoples unemployment checks hostage to get them extended.

They have blocked numerous bills meant to try and create jobs and stimulate the economy. Sit down and take a little time to think. Just what have republicans done in 200 plus days? They have protected the Bush tax cuts for the rich. They have blocked closing tax loopholes that let the elite rich pay less of a percentage than your average American workers. They have attacked social programs that assist the needy. They are trying to slash Social Security, Medicaid, Medicare, spending for schools and teachers, assistance to college students, Food Stamps, Welfare, the Food and Drug Administration, the Environmental Protection Agency.

They have not offered one bill to create jobs. They have not offered anything at all for the working class American. As a matter of fact they have gone out of their way to make the president fail. Real patriots. Seriously, they have done nothing but protect the rich.

Taxes are lower now than they were when Ronald Reagan was in office. Reagan himself raised taxes ad did George H.W. Bush and Bill Clinton. Which left this country in pretty good shape. Then along came Bush Jr. and his 100% republican control. Now the 400 richest people in America have more money than the bottom 50% of Americans. The top few percent controls larger percent of the wealth in America than ever in the history of the country.

So next time you go to the polls. Think real hard about who has your back. None of the budget cuts they are blackmailing us out of will lower the average persons taxes one red cent. If anything it costs us more in higher local taxes, higher state taxes... The rich just pocket more and push supporting decent society with a decent educational system down to us.
